Before you order
If your question is not here, email info@uptimepackaging.com and we will confirm before you spend anything.
How do I know which printhead fits my printer?
Match the model and the resolution. A ZT410 at 300 dpi takes a different head from a ZT410 at 203 dpi, and they are not interchangeable. The resolution is on the printer's configuration label or in its settings menu. If you are unsure, send us the model and we will confirm before you order.
Is my printhead worn, or just dirty?
Adhesive build-up and ribbon debris cause the same symptoms as a worn head: voids in barcodes, faded print, failed scans. Clean the head thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a proper cleaning card first. If a full clean does not restore print quality, the elements have gone and the head needs replacing.
What is the difference between OEM and compatible parts?
OEM parts are made by the original manufacturer. Compatible parts are made to the same specification by someone else, usually at lower cost. We stock both and label each clearly. For anything that touches print quality or carries an RFID service tag, we will tell you honestly where a compatible is fine and where it is not.
Wax or wax/resin ribbon, which do I need?
Wax transfers at low printhead energy and costs least per print. It suits paper labels that get read once and discarded, and it smudges under a fingernail. Wax/resin bonds harder, resists smudging, scratching and mild moisture, and runs on coated and synthetic stock where plain wax rubs off. If the label has to survive handling, distribution or a damp environment, wax/resin is the one that keeps scanning.
Can I order by part number?
Yes. Search the part number directly. If a number does not return anything, email us, because we may stock it under a different reference or a superseded part.
