Thermal inkjet printers apply non-contact codes from replaceable cartridges rather than a circulating fluid system. That makes them simple to run, quick to change over, and well suited to operations that do not want the maintenance overhead of continuous inkjet.

Three configurations

We supply three distinct TIJ solutions, and which one suits you depends entirely on what you are coding:

• High resolution for crisp barcodes and fine text, including intricate compliance labelling
• High speed for production lines that need rapid throughput
• Solvent ink for durable marking on non-porous surfaces such as cables and tubing, where abrasion resistance matters

TIJ or continuous inkjet?

TIJ uses sealed cartridges, so there is no solvent to manage, no makeup fluid and far less routine maintenance. The trade is running cost per code and throughput at the top end.

Continuous inkjet suits higher speeds, harsher environments and non-porous substrates. If that sounds more like your line, look at the BestCode QuantumX, which is IP65 stainless and runs to 1,500 feet per minute on a single line.

How we specify it

Rather than sell you all three, we will normally recommend one or two that fit the actual application. Tell us the substrate, the line speed and what the code has to survive, and we will narrow it down.
