Higher resolution, smaller detail
300 dpi puts twelve dots into every millimetre. That matters when a label has to carry small point sizes, 2D codes, or graphics with fine detail. Pharmaceutical, cosmetic and electronics labelling all tend to need it.
A consumable, not a fault
Printheads are designed to be replaced. Treating one as a scheduled consumable rather than waiting for failure keeps print quality consistent and avoids an unplanned stop in the middle of a run.
